Chief Investment Officer Peter
Halligan joined Rotorua Trust’s investment management
subsidiary, Perpetual Capital Management Limited (PCML),
as chief investment officer early in 2008.
With more than 20 years experience in the financial
market sector in Auckland, he is responsible for the
management and investment activities of PCML. Having
begun his career as a floor trader with the New Zealand
Stock Exchange, Peter’s investment management
experience includes working for New Zealand Guardian
Trust, Sovereign and ASB Group Investments, where he
managed stocks, bonds and foreign exchange.
Originally from Putaruru, Peter enjoys
an interest in a wide range of sports. He has competed
in triathlons, run marathons, actively skis, mountain
bikes and plays touch rugby and golf when time permits.
In 2007 he swam from Rangitoto Island to St Helier’s
in Auckland, a distance of approximately five kilometres
in open water and concedes there was the odd worry about
sharks and ships during the race.
He has two children; a son aged 10
and a seven year old daughter, who live locally.
