Scholarships Policies

The Rotorua Energy Charitable Trust is firmly committed to supporting education in the Rotorua District. It makes a number of scholarships available to a wide range of people at the same time each year.

Tertiary Study Award

Each year the Trust provides funding in the form of tertiary study funding for up to 50 Rotorua students. Each tertiary study funding has a value of $2,000 and has a maximum tenure of four years.

Waiariki Institute of Technology - Whare Takiura Scholarship

The Trust presents scholarships to students at Waiariki Institute of Technology in Rotorua. Up to 10 scholarships with an annual value of $2,000 are available to students currently studying at Waiariki Institute of Technology.

J W J Lepper Memorial Apprenticeship Scholarship

The Rotorua Energy Charitable Trust has established the JWJ Lepper Memorial Apprenticeship Scholarship programme to assist apprentices who reside and are undertaking an apprenticeship in the Rotorua District to meet the cost of their apprenticeship study.

Applicants must have attended for at least two academic years a secondary school in the Rotorua District and have completed at least one year of their apprenticeship. The Trust will award up to a maximum of 10 scholarships of $1,000 each.
